Welcome. I’m a journalist currently working on an International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) story about people who have immigrated/relocated to a country where they have ancestral ties.

I got curious about this after I moved from the United States to Germany almost four years ago after noticing that, although I have an entire lineage from this country, I am functionally a total foreigner.

If you made a similar movie, I would love to hear about your journey, experiences, and why you chose to do it for an upcoming piece.

What I am looking for:
- You moved to a country where you have an ancestry, either for that purpose or by coincidence.
- You decided to retrace an ancestral path because you felt called to, interested in, or purpose-driven to trace it.

What I am not looking for:
- Your travel stories (this story has an immigration component).

If you would be willing to share, message me via my website contact form.

I’m excited to hear your stories.
